Here are Peter and Lex enjoying the first real snow this season. We had a sprinkling earlier this week, but it didn’t amount to much. Today, we had about an inch to an inch and a half to work with.

Minh Xuan

I wasn’t going to post these pictures, but since Henry and Mike set up an entire website for her, I think it’s OK. In fact, they have their own set of pictures from this event. They brought Minh back to Boston for a visit this summer. My boys had a blast visiting up in Milford NH that day. It was just a couple weeks earlier that we had been to the same place for my wife’s aunt’s 50th wedding anniversary.
Halloween 2007

This Halloween, Peter was an ice cream cone and Lex was a firefighter. Lex still wears his costume from time to time around the house … and to firehouse tours … and to friends’ houses. At one firehouse tour, someone asked who the shortest firefighter was. Lex raised his hand and said that it was him. Stephanie hand-made Peter’s costume. The sprinkles are cut up straws and the ice cream is white tights stuffed with batting and appropriately arranged.
We had a fantastic time this afternoon at the Boston Children’s Museum. I left a little early from work and met the family there. The kids loved everything there. Lex was just crazy … running back and forth and crying out in joy … you’d think we kept him locked up judging from how happy he was to run free! They both loved the water thing where you put sponges and boats onto a sloped ring in which water is pumped. It was near impossible to drag them away from that one. After a McDonald’s break, they both went crazy again with the extra energy. Alisa, from my office, says McDonald’s is crack for kids. I think she’s not too far off!
A Day with Thomas

We had a fantastic time at Edaville Railroad yesterday! The kids both had a blast on the various trains and especially on the Thomas train. They have a huge assortment of trains and rides for kids.
We were quite nervous about the weather as Ophelia was supposed to drench us. It turned out to be a great day, nice and cool, for playing outside. Stephanie arranged the outfits, which was pretty cool. Everyone commented on how cute they looked. There was only one other boy dressed similarly, and he had a whistle and a stopwatch as well.

Peter and I visited the lot in Holbrook. Here he is on the backhoe that was doing some of the clearing. This was taken back in November ‘04 just after Dave and I bought the lot.

Peter and I made a snowman tonight. This was around 4:30 this evening and it was already pertty dark out!
This is from early March as well. Peter and Lex have since replicated this pose dozens of times. They really do get along pretty well most of the time.
Just Hanging Out

This is from early March, so Lex is only a couple months old. He turns seven months old today! Happy 7-month Birthday Lex!
Bubble Juice

Peter’s new treat when he goes to bed is “Bubble Juice”, which is basically San Pellegrino
and ice, and sometimes a touch of apple juice. It’s a great treat, and he loves it!

Stephanie and the kids went to the Franklin Park Zoo
today. My aunt Gail works there, so it’s nice to go and see relatives. Peter is here with lots of eggs. He likes eggs.

First Sentence

Peter’s first sentence, and I mean real sentence, was uttered not too long ago. On 12/14, he said “Mama, cookie all gone.”
I should have blogged that long ago. Tonight, I’m up late waiting for pumpkin cheesecake to finish cooking. The recipe calls for one 9″ cheesecake, but I think it made one and a half. I had to use a few of those mini pans to finish out the rest of the batter. It smells delicious right now!

Well, today is a day to remember. Peter slept the whole night through last night! Yay! We’re coming up on his first birthday, 4/18, and he finally made it. Usually, he wakes up at least once, sometimes more than that, looking for a little 11pm, 1am, 4am, and 6am snack. Last night, he woke up at 10pm, but I was able to rock him back to sleep. Then, he didn’t wake up until 6am this morning. Stephanie thinks he may still have reflux, which keeps him wakeful at night. Last night, he threw up a bit before going to bed, and that may have relieved his stomach for the night. I think she’s right. We’ll have to have that checked out, but the doctor didn’t seem to think it was an issue the last time we brought it up…
Sledding

Peter’s Getting Better

Thanks for everyone’s prayers! Peter is doing much better. The cold and congestion are still there, but clearing up. The ear infections went away within a day. The NP on call at our pediatrician’s office (DMA
, a great place, by the way) prescribed an antibiotic (amoxicillin??) for the infections and a steroid (oraped?) for his croupe-cough. He’s doing much better now, back tohis usual self and making mum and pop very happy!
Peter’s Sick :-(

Peter’s feeling really badly today. He came down with congestion and a runny nose on Wednesday, which turned into a cough on Friday. Last night, it got worse, and this morning we brought him in to see a nurse. She said he has two ear infections as well as the croupe cough. Poor little guy is in tough shape. He sounds terrible, and my heart is aching because he’s in such pain. The good news is we now have some prescriptions to give him which should help him weather the storm.

Peter has been feeling pretty badly lately. For the past couple of days, he’s had bad congestion, a runny nose, and this morning he started a cough. It’s very ahrd for the little ones to have these symptoms. He primarily breathes through his nose when he sleeps, so basically, he’s not really sleeping 
Steph has been great, helping him get through this. I, on theother hand, haven’t been as good at it. Good luck little buddy!

star trek generations free here he is . . . . our little guy is sitting. you can see how well he’s doing. he doesn’t rely on his hands to hold himself up anymore and he’s reaching for toys. he loves it. it’s so neat to see him grow – i guess it’s the PT in me to track his development (please note his budding trunk extensor muscles!)
